Guide to Terminology:

[PAID] - you will be a short-term contractor and paid per milestone or per asset. Generally jobs lasting less than a month.
[ONGOING] - you will become part of the team and work part or full time on the project. Generally jobs lasting over a month; could be permanent employment.
[REVSHARE] - you will only be paid based on the revenue of the game after release.
[FREE] - work will be purely voluntary and without compensation.

Thread Title: [PAID] Level Designer / Environmental Artist for topdown 3D realistic game

Job Description: 

Looking for an experienced Level Designer / 3D Generalist to create 8-12 realistic, top-down 3D levels set in modern-day America during a Zombie Apocalypse.

You’ll be provided with a large amount of recently purchased 3D asset packs and a budget to buy or make more assets as required, plus a Design Document. The project is on Unity 2017.4.2 and the target is PC.

There is an existing prototype system which allows you to test Player and Enemy movement in Play mode.


Skills Required:
  • Unity 2018
  • 3DS Max
  • Unity Particles
  • Unity Shaders
  • Basic Scripting/Animation (eg. Flickering Lights)
Availability, Payment and Location:
  • Remote work
  • Available for remote work up to 10 hours per week outside of normal office hours.
  • $25/hour. Willing to work on a per-asset or milestone basis

Any contract work acquired on the forums is done entirely at your own risk. This is an open community on the Internet so be wise. If you have a bad experience please try and resolve this issue with the relevant parties in private.

Here are a few tips.
  • Do your research, Google, Linkedin, portfolio sites etc.
  • Check references, contact previous employers/employees for recommendations.
  • Have a Skype or Discord meeting.
  • Make a contract that is agreed on and signed by both parties, this goes both ways for employers and employees. Clearly state the asset(s) to be received/provided and consequences for not delivering on assets or payment. Include payment method and rate as well as content delivery method.
  • Never give full payment in advance.
